Finalists’ Night!
Tuesday, May 12, was the culmination of a long road for the grant applicants and Impact100 Grants Committee. The finalists had their chance in the spotlight.
Over 60 members turned out to see the 8 presentations and the evening went off without a hitch. Refreshments were organized, the screens and projectors were in place, the presenters were polished and professional. The one tiny hitch was when the live stream technology (Brittany’s phone!) overheated and needed an ice bath to get back in action. Remarkably, every presentation finished on time! They were both thorough and succinct. All were interesting; all are worthy. Each presentation provided a magnifying glass on a need and offered us an insightful approach to improving our community.
I felt proud to be there. Just by soliciting applications, Impact100 is inspiring these non-profits to new approaches to pressing problems. This year we can make two of them come true – I wish we could do all 8.
