Born in Dothan, Alabama, Amy Counts has always had a heart for serving others. Her summers spent in Panama City Beach laid the foundation for her deep connection to the community. In 1985, she and her husband, Steve Counts, made the move to Panama City Beach, where Steve later established Counts Real Estate Group, becoming a cornerstone of the local community.
Family has always been at the heart of Amy’s life. She and Steve are proud parents to two children, Stephen Counts and Kristen Counts Barr. Their family has been enriched by the presence of five beloved grandchildren, who bring boundless love and laughter to their lives. Amy finds joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who serve as a constant reminder of the importance of leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion.
Amy’s dedication to community service is unwavering. Over the years, she has been actively involved in various organizations, including the American Heart Association Board and the Cancer Society Board. Alongside her husband, Steve, they co-chaired the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida, embodying their shared commitment to mentorship and empowerment.
A passionate advocate for education, Amy served as a mentor in the Take Stock in Children Bay County School program for five years, guiding students toward success. She is currently a Junior Service League Sustainer and has been an integral part of the Service League since 1989, showcasing her long-standing commitment to community service and volunteerism.
Beyond her formal roles, Amy is deeply involved in initiatives aimed at supporting others. She’s an active member of the Bay Point Women’s Club, where she fosters connections and contributes to community enrichment efforts. She volunteers with Backpack Blessings, ensuring hundreds of students receive meals weekly, and supports causes such as the Autism foundation and various church and community events.
